With Titernal, Fushimi has succeeded in creating a liquid photocatalyst unlike any conventional inorganic binder or other general liquid catalyst. By focusing on fibers and domestic materials, they engineered Titernal as a special organic material to act as a binder that exhibits the functionality of a photocatalyst without the loss of aesthetics or appeal.
This novel concept makes it possible to use Titernal even with items that cannot be bound with conventional photocatalysts. This is the titanium oxide photocatalyst coating that everyone has been waiting for. Titernal comes in two types, Titernal W which has water as the solvent, and Titernal E which has ethanol as the primary solvent.
Titanium oxide photocatalysts use the minute amount of ultraviolet energy contained in solar, fluorescent and other light sources to break down foul-smelling substances in the air, to adhere to contaminated surfaces and break down unwanted substances, and to kill microorganisms through contact.
The first president founded Fushimi in Osaka in 1962. Over the years since then, they have developed and manufactured rust-proofing, anti-inflammatory and mold release agents. More than a decade ago, they developed a photocatalytic solution with new properties based on their basic technology and the market responded favorably to their creative development.
